About SpiritED's Founder
My name is Charlena. I'm a mom and teacher who feels that education shouldn't end at school and spiritual education shouldn't end at church. I want to give my child the best and I'm sure you do too! If they have, Jesus, they have it all.
Everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God. Whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.2 John 1:9 ESV
Surveys for the Bible Society found that half [of the children] did not recognize the story of Noah's Ark as coming from the Bible, and many confused Biblical stories with plot-lines from well-known films such as Harry Potter.
If only they knew that the Bible was not a bunch of stories but the big story that points to Jesus.
I wondered, what's my kids' Bible IQ? Do they know Bible basics like the books of the Bible? Memory Verses? How does The Creation Story connect to the life of Jesus?
So starting with my own children, I tested research based Bible games with a goal to increase Bible literacy because I wanted to develop their ability to open their own Bibles and learn. This is how SpiritED, a safe, web based platform was born.
We developed SpiritED to help children make sense out of life which in turn builds character and influences their goals;this leads to children that are prepared to succeed in college,career and life which becomes their ministry. In the safety and convenience of their own home, children can practice skills learned in the classroom as well as in Sunday School aligned with State Standards.This bible literacy app is made for social good. When the Lord enters the hearts of children, the world starts to change for the better.
Our curriculum not only makes learning about the Gospel fun but encourages children to use their own Bibles. SpiritED empowers children to use their many gifts by using Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligences as a guide to develop fun online activities (books,art,games,songs and more) that immerse kids in the word of God.
